From the rustic village green, we move to the elegant, sunlit world of Mozart. We are thrilled to welcome DSO flutist, Amanda Blaikie, for the Flute Concerto in G Major. The program culminates in one of the most powerful works ever written: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. Famously called the "apotheosis of the dance," this is a work of obsessive, relentless rhythm. From its energetic opening, through the famous, solemn march of the Allegretto, to the wild, unbridled joy of its finale, the symphony builds in an unstoppable wave of rhythmic power.
